Temperature Forecast

Portugal & Islands 09.09.2024 to 23.09.2024

At the locations indicated on the map, you will have access to the information of the Average Kinetic Temperature (MKT) and Average Temperature values corresponding to the maximum temperature and minimum temperature values for a 15-day forecast. This information is useful to be used in logistical processes with temperature control to take into account the thermal parameters of the starting point and the arrival point of products sensitive to temperature variations. This information must be complemented by the interested party, with information on the thermal variations that the goods will undergo due to the type of transport used and the number of hours required by them. The MKT and Average Temperature data that are provided on this website, by themselves, do not guarantee the type of configuration that should be used in case of using Passive Type Thermal Chain Systems in which, in general, different types of thermal accumulators, thermal isolation separators, etc. The correct configuration in this case will depend on the climatic information of the points of departure and arrival, in addition to the external temperature profiles filled by the package.

In the supplementary information, the following relevant notes should be taken into account:

  • The temperature at which the goods are taken to the airport (climatized, frozen, refrigerated or ambient temperature*);
  • The arrival of the goods at the airport (to be taken into consideration: whether the goods will be stored in climatized, frozen, refrigerated or ambient temperature* areas);
  • The waiting time of the goods at the airport runway (tarmac) before they are loaded on to the aircraft ( on the airport runway, temperatures can go above 50oC int he summer and below zero in winter);
  • The temperature inside the aircraft** (climatized, frozen or refrigerated ) as well as the total time spent inside;
  • Cross docking (climatized, frozen, or ambient temperature) between scales and in situations where the goods await the pick up by transport services (direct flights);
  • Transport/Cross Docking until final destination (climatized, frozen, refrigerated or ambient temperature*).

* When a cargo is transported or handled at room temperature, the MKT of the location must be taken into account, for this reason ZØR presents a forecast of the MKT national and international locations.

**Usually the cargo is transported in the hold in acclimatized conditions (20 ° C).
